This little guy is so cute! I must give credit where it's due, and tell you that I first saw him HERE on Splitcoaststampers in a post by stampshera. The minute I saw him, I knew I had to CASE him. I thought a tutorial might be helpful to some.
Step 1: Using your SU! Scallop punch, punch out two scallop circles in Close to Cocoa, one in Garden Green, one in More Mustard and one in Ruby Red. Also punch out another small portion of the scallop in the Ruby Red (for his whattle (sp?)), and cut a small triangle of More Mustard for his beak. Now, using your Three Flower punch from SU!, punch out the daisy-looking flower in More Mustard, for his feet.
Step 2: Layer the scallop pieces as shown, adhering them together with Snail adhesive. Leave out one of the Close to Cocoa pieces to use for his body.
Step 3: Using your paper snips, cut through all four pieces in a straight line right across the middle of the top scallop.
Step 4: For his body, you want to cut in a curved line across the remaining Close to Cocoa scallop circle. You want one "scallop" at the top, and three at the bottom. You just have to eyeball it and do it by hand, but it's not hard. This isn't a very good picture of the actual cutting, but here's a picture after it's cut.
Step 5: Cut the daisy flower so that you have two pieces, each with three petals (or, in this case, toes). Trim the Ruby Red partial scallop piece down to a small heart, and trim the More Mustard triangle down to a size that will be in proportion to your turkey's face.
Step 6: Using 2-way glue or glue dots, adhere the "feet" to the back of the body, and then adhere the face pieces to the front of the body.
Step 7: Using a dimensional (you'll need the spacing), adhere the body to the feathers. Give him some eyes with a black marker, and then slip him over the metal part of an upside-down binder clip, give him a name, and use him as part of your place-setting on your Thanksgiving table! Mine is named Frank because my brother-in-law is coming to Thanksgiving dinner. I think my turkey kind of looks like a "Frank", too, lol!
Pretty cool...great job!
