I saw this tutorial on Splitcoast and just had to give it a try. It's so easy, and the effect is so cool!
To achieve the faux silk effect, all you do is
(1) stamp your image on a piece of tissue paper (the tissue paper should be cut slightly larger than the cardstock you're going to mount it to (see (3) below)).
(2) Crinkle the paper up a few times and then flatten it back out.
(3) Use a glue stick, xyron, spray adhesive, Mod Podge or other adhesive to adhere your tissue paper to a piece of neutral cardstock (note, this piece of CS should be cut slightly smaller than your tissue paper). I used SU! glue stick as my adhesive.
(4) Trim the edges of the tissue paper so they are even with the edges of the cardstock you have mounted it to, and
(5) Finish your card.
Now I ask you, how easy is that?!
