This is my very first project using the rub-ons. I think I'll be using a lot of these babies! I found this cute vase at the store this morning, and thought it would be perfect for a rub-on. It just so happened that I had some flowers still living from the bouquet my husband gave me last week. Enjoy!

This set is just so fun to work with. It is fast becoming one of my favorites. And isn't that saying "You're One of a Kind" just perfect for scrapbook pages? I think so! I think I may have CASED this from someone, but I'll be darned if I can remember. If it was you, let me know so I can give credit! Notice the cut-out flower. Those of you who know me well know that I am not a "cutter-outer" kinda gal, so this is really something for me, lol. However, that flower just begs to be cut out, doesn't it? It just wouldn't be the same simply stamped on a square or a circle. And look at how well that scallop fits behind it. A perfect fit. The colors are Certainly Celery, Rose Red and Whisper White, with the Rose Red Prints DSP. That's a build-a-brad in the middle. I LOVE build-a-brad!

I've had the Pretties Kit for awhile, but haven't used it much. Today I was browsing through the latest issue of Paper Crafts magazine, and there was a card using these flowers. It was so pretty, I just had to make it. I made two different versions. I colored the flowers using a sponge dauber and the Pretty in Pink classic ink. On the card with the larger flowers, I also stamped the Baroque Motifs flourish stamp on the flowers in celery. Enjoy!

My oldest daughter turned twelve yesterday. These are the treats I took up to school today (she was out sick yesterday). There are three cookies in each cello bag. The bags are then tied with Christmas ribbon (hey, I had some left over, so why not use it for this?), with the tag added to the ribbon. She was thrilled when I took them up to the school just now! I think she thought I was just going to bring cookies on a plate. She wasn't expecting this, and she wasn't expecting three cookies per kid, either! She whispered to me as I handed them to her: "So far, you're the most generous mom in the treat category." These took me all morning to bake and wrap, but her reaction made it totally worth every minute.

I saw this tutorial on Splitcoast and just had to give it a try. It's so easy, and the effect is so cool!
To achieve the faux silk effect, all you do is
(1) stamp your image on a piece of tissue paper (the tissue paper should be cut slightly larger than the cardstock you're going to mount it to (see (3) below)).
(2) Crinkle the paper up a few times and then flatten it back out.
(3) Use a glue stick, xyron, spray adhesive, Mod Podge or other adhesive to adhere your tissue paper to a piece of neutral cardstock (note, this piece of CS should be cut slightly smaller than your tissue paper). I used SU! glue stick as my adhesive.
(4) Trim the edges of the tissue paper so they are even with the edges of the cardstock you have mounted it to, and
(5) Finish your card.
Now I ask you, how easy is that?!

A few posts ago I did a sample with this set. I just love it! It's so great for so many occasions (ha! I said the same thing about the "Celebrate Everything" set in my last post). Well, it's true! They're both very versatile sets. This is a card my stamper's club made this morning. The layout is based on a sample shared in my Yahoo! group by a fellow demo named Jeanette S. I changed the colors and a couple of other things, but basically it's her layout (thanks for sharing, Jeanette!) I found this fabulous color combo on the splitcoaststampers website and thought it was perfect for the card I wanted to make. Aren't these colors great together? They are Taken With Teal, Real Red and Certainly Celery. The hole at the top for the ribbon to come through was made using the horizontal slit punch. Just punch it on the fold, and you've got just the right size slit for your ribbon to fit through.

Yippee! As most of you know, stamp sets in the mini catalogs are now die cut. SU! announced last year at convention that all stamp sets that carry over from the mini catalogs will continue to be die cut. Stampin' Up! reminded us demos this morning on the SU! website that the stamp set True Friend, which was in the recent Holiday Mini Collection 2007 and which has now carried over into the big cataog, will continue to be die cut. It's a good thing they reminded us, because I myself had forgotten! That set is now going on my list of things to buy! It's a great set anyway, made even better by being pre-cut!

This is another new set that I really like. It's so versatile. You have the big "CELEBRATE" and then smaller words to go with it, like "everything", "time to", "you", etc. It goes right along with two other sets: "Happy Everything" and "Thanks for Everything". Whoever thought up these sets is one smart cookie! Here's a card I made today. Colors are Rose Red, Groovy Guava and Apricot Appeal. I inked the stamp up on the versamark pad, and then I put it directly on the Groovy Guava classic inkpad. Then I stamped it on the cardstock and sprinkled it with Iridescent Ice embossing powder and heated it up with the SU! heat gun. Much easier than heat'n'stick powder and glitter (though perhaps not quite as "glittery" as that particular technique). Enjoy!
