This technique is so simple, and yet it has such an impact. All you need is glossy cardstock, versamark,a brayer, a stamp set (of course!) and an inkpad.
Here's what you do:
1. Ink your stamp in versamark and stamp it on your glossy paper. You can wait for it to dry a little, but you don't have to - the technique works either way. On this card, I stamped the large flower from Vintage Vogue (Occasions Mini catalog) in versamark on the glossy paper.
2. Ink up your brayer on your inkpad and then run the brayer all over the glossy cardstock, going back and forth several times. Brayer in different directions, inking the brayer on the inkpad again after about 8-10 seconds of brayering. The more you reink the brayer and keep brayering over the cardstock, the darker it becomes, and the better your versamarked design shows up.
The black flowers and words were stamped in Basic Black ink after I finished brayering.
Here's a different version. I inserted a black mat behind the top glossy piece, which I think makes it "pop" more, and instead of stamping the smaller flowers in black, I stamped them in the same ink color that I brayered in, so they are more subtle. Then I added the "Friends" stamp.
Here's a photo at an angle, so you can see the glossy cardstock:
I told you it was easy :-)
Supplies: Basic Black Cardstock, Whisper White Cardstock, Glossy White Cardstock, Scallop Trim Corner Punch (Occasions Mini Catalog), Vintage Vogue Stamp set (Occasions Mini Catalog), Basic Black Inkpad, Rose Red Inkpad, Brayer, Whisper White Organza Ribbon (this ribbon is absolutely stunning, and the catalog (p. 183) does not do it justice at all).
Don't forget, the Occasions Mini Catalog expires next Friday, April 30!
Enjoy!
Thanks for another great technique.
