Pink & Gray Elements of Style Card

I love the Elements of Style stamp set from the Summer mini catalog!  I had a chance to play a little today and I came up with this card.  I don't think I've done pink & gray in a while.

Stamps:  Elements of Style (2010 Summer Mini Catalog)

Cardstock:  Basic Gray, Regal Rose, Whisper White

Inks:  Regal Rose, Basic Gray

Accessories:  White Taffeta Ribbon, Cutter Kit (used for distressing edges)

Gift Bag Card

Here's my version of another card I found in an old magazine the other day.  I thought the idea of a little gift bag on the front of a card was cute.

For the bag filler, I just ran some cardstock through the crimper and then cut thin strips.  They are glued down with Crystal Effects.

Paper:  Very Vanilla, Kraft, Ruby Red

Inks:  Versamark

Accessories:  Photo Corner Punch, 1 3/8" circle punch, Crop-A-Dile, Basic Eyelets, Gold embossing powder, Heat Tool, Crimper, Crystal Effects, Stampin' Dimensionals

Spot the Tag Punch Dog and His Dog House

While cleaning my stamp room today, I got distracted by an old magazine which had a cute dog made from punches.  I needed a break from cleaning, so I made this card. Fun! 

To make Spot, I used our large and small Tag Punch punches, the 1/4" and 1/8" circle punches and the smallest heart from the Heart to Heart punch.

Instructions 1. Adhere Old Olive Patterns Designer Series paper (4-1/4" x 1-1/4") to Soft Suede card. 2. Distress bottom edge of Dusty Durango card stock (4-1/4" x 2-1/2"), and adhere to card. 3. Stamp image in Jet Black StazOn ink on watercolor paper (2-1/8" x 1-1/2"). Outline image with Old Olive, More Mustard, Soft Suede, Dusty Durango, and Basic Black Stampin’ Write markers and watercolor using Aqua Painter. 4. Scallop right edge of More Mustard card stock (2-3/4" x 1-1/2") using Scallop Edge punch, and distress left edge. Adhere watercolor paper to More Mustard card stock, and adhere to card. 5. Tie More Mustard/Very Vanilla ribbon around front of card.

Retiring Cardstock and Inks Going Fast - Order Yours Now

Stampin’ Up! notified to us this week that the demand for cardstock and ink in the retiring colors has been much greater than anticipated.  Many items are already on backorder status.  Sometimes the response to a transition of this nature can surprise everyone!

Reinkers in retiring colors will be placed on backorder as they run out, and those orders will be filled as quickly as product comes in.  SU! will continue to fill these orders to the best of their ability through May, and then the reinkers will be available while supplies last in June.

Card stock presents a bit larger problem, as the process of ordering and producing new paper from the paper mills is very involved, and SU! can't order significant quantities at this point in time without putting the production of the new colors in jeopardy (and I don't know about you, but I'm very anxious to get those new colors!). To help SU! be able to provide you with the card stock in the retiring colors for as long as possible, they will be substituting textured cardstock for some of the smooth cardstock --both in 8-1/2" x 11" and 12" x 12" sizes-- where the smooth is no longer available. Some of these colors will be on backorder status, and SU! will be filling as many of those as possible with textured card stock. Because the demand for each color varies, SU! is unable to provide a list of what colors of card stock will be substituted with textured, or at what point that will happen. However, if you receive a package of card stock that is textured instead of smooth, there will be a sticker on the package indicating that change.

While this is an extraordinary situation, this solution will help you get the retiring colors you want for as long as possible. Please keep in mind that an instance may arise where SU! will be unable to fill orders on a specific product, and it will become unavailable before the end of May, but those cases should be minimal.  I will update my blog if SU! announces that a certain product is no longer available.

Don’t forget:  Even if your favorite colors are not yet backordered, all retiring products will be available only on a "while supplies last" basis beginning June 1st. I encourage you to shop early so that you have the best chance of getting the products you want.
