Mixed Bunch Tri-Fold Card

I made several of this card today to send out to a few people.  I hope they like it! 

I just love the Mixed Bunch stamp set from the Occasions Mini Catalog (probably because it doesn't require "exact" stamping, lol.  You can just stamp the flowers randomly and they look great - my kind of stampin'!)

Here's the card as you open it:

The black frame is adhered to the right side of the tri-fold card, and the white oval is adhered to the left side, so that when you open the card they separate, moving in opposite directions.  Fun!  The Oval Scallop Frame for the Big Shot cuts out both pieces at once (inside oval and outside frame).  I just layered a piece of Whisper White and a piece of Basic Black cardstock and ran them both through at the same time, getting both an oval and a frame in both colors.  Now I have a white frame and black oval left over, to create another card ;-)

I used both the Silver Foil Smooch Spritz and the Color Spritzer tool with the Island Indigo marker attached to spray the card.  Look closely and you'll see the effect.

Easter Class this Thursday (day or evening)

Hello stampers!  I finally designed the third project for this week's class.  It uses the new Petite Purse die for the Big Shot.  (As a demonstrator, I could preorder this die in March.  You can get it starting on April 1st!)

Here's a photo of all three projects for the class:

  I have the ruler next to the purse to show you the size.  The purse is 3" wide, 2" tall and 1 1/4" deep (front to back).  You can fit lots of little goodies inside! 

Wouldn't those little purses make the cutest little shower favors???  There are so many different ways to decorate the purse, too!  It would be adorable made from Designer Series Paper, don't you think?

Easter Chicks

Here's a card my club members made yesterday.   Aren't these chicks just the cutest?

The chicks are made with the 2-step bird punch.  After I punched out the bird, I re-inserted it into the punch and took off most of the tail.  You could achieve the same look using scissors to cut off the tail.

Stamps:  Just Believe (plants), Teeny Tiny Wishes (sentiment).    Colors:  Daffodil Delight, Perfect Plum, Pear Pizzazz, Bashful Blue, Whisper White.    Accessories:  Big Shot, Perfect Polks Dots Embossing Folder, Two-step Bird punch, Boho Blossoms punch (wings), Modern Label punch, Word Window punch, Daffodil Delight 1/8" Taffeta Ribbon.  A sponge and More Mustard ink were used on the birds to add dimension. 

if you look closely, you'll see that the Perfect Plum frame is raised up.  I made the frame by taking a rectangle of Perfect Plum cardstock and cutting away the inside 1/2" in from each side, basically cutting a rectangle out of a rectangle.  Easy to do with a sliding blade (not a rotary) trimmer.  I then mounted it to the card using dimensionals.
