Eastern Blooms in So Saffron

Here's one of the cards my hostess and her friends made at the home workshop I did on Sunday.  What a great group of ladies!  I had a lot of fun.

Stamp Set:  Eastern Blooms.

Colors: Old Olive, So Saffron and Chocolate Chip. 

Accessories:  Photo Corners punch, Old Olive 5/8" grosgrain ribbon, Pretties Kit (1/2 pearl) and White Gel Pen (for flower centers).

To get the different colors on the branch of flowers, we inked up the stamp in So Saffron and then took the Chocolate Chip marker and colored the branches.  When using this technique, remember to (1) "huff" on the stamp after you color the branches with the marker (this remoistens the So Saffron ink), and (2) clean the stamp after each use, or you'll get Chocolate Chip ink in your So Saffron inkpad.  A couple of the ladies colored their flower centers Chocolate Chip, which was also very pretty!  I think the 1/2 pearl adds just the right touch to this card.

Well, if this stamp set (Backwoods) doesn't scream "Michigan!" I don't know what does.  Sometimes I feel like we are the only family that doesn't have "a cabin up north," lol.  I used Basic Black and Kraft cardstocks and Chocolate Chip and Artichoke inkpads.  Enjoy.
