Mixed Bunch Tri-Fold Card

I made several of this card today to send out to a few people.  I hope they like it! 

I just love the Mixed Bunch stamp set from the Occasions Mini Catalog (probably because it doesn't require "exact" stamping, lol.  You can just stamp the flowers randomly and they look great - my kind of stampin'!)

Here's the card as you open it:

The black frame is adhered to the right side of the tri-fold card, and the white oval is adhered to the left side, so that when you open the card they separate, moving in opposite directions.  Fun!  The Oval Scallop Frame for the Big Shot cuts out both pieces at once (inside oval and outside frame).  I just layered a piece of Whisper White and a piece of Basic Black cardstock and ran them both through at the same time, getting both an oval and a frame in both colors.  Now I have a white frame and black oval left over, to create another card ;-)

I used both the Silver Foil Smooch Spritz and the Color Spritzer tool with the Island Indigo marker attached to spray the card.  Look closely and you'll see the effect.

Framelits Frenzy - Day 13

Yesterday being a dreary day here in southeast Michigan, I decided I needed to use some bright colors and flowers for today's project.  Here's the result of my efforts:

Framelits Frenzy - Day 11

This little guy came about totally by accident as two of my framelits were laying on my table and they happened to overlap a certain way.  It caught my eye and I thought "Hmmmm...I could make an animal out of that."  So, I started to work.  I started out wanting to make a fox (thus the Cajun Craze color), but it turned out more like a cat (or maybe one of the gremlins from that move The Gremlins, lol).  Whatever you want to call it, I think it would make a great kids' birthday card.

Framelits Frenzy - Day 10

Thanks for joining me for day 10 of my Framelits Frenzy featuring the Stampin' Up! Framelits.  Today I'm showing you a tri-fold card with an interlocking front.  I'm going to show you three different views of this card so that you can see how it works.

  This is the front, when closed.

Cool, huh?  You just know that whoever you give this card to is going to open and close it several times, right?  lol 

To create the tri-fold, take a standard piece of 8 1/2 x 11 cardstock and cut it in half lengthwise, so that it is now a 4 1/4 x 11" piece.  Next, with the cardstock positioned horiziontally, score each end 2 3/4" in from the edge.  Fold in both ends, and voila, you have a tri-fold!  I created the tri-fold and the lines you see on either side of the front using our fabulous new Simply Scored tool.  It makes scoring sooooooo easy!  I love it!

Framelits Frenzy - Day 8

Well, I just can't get enough of the Stampin' Up! Framelits!  It has been a fun challenge to come up with something new every day using these wonderful new toys.  I didn't want to stop with my Framelits Frenzy, so here's another card.

Framelits Frenzy - Day 7

Day 7 already!  Can you believe it?  I hope you've enjoyed the ideas I've shared for the fabulous Stampin' Up! Framelits.  Here's a card I've had in my head for a few days.  It turned out very different from what I envisioned, but that's what usually happens, lol. 

On this card, I actually made a frame using the Framelits!  The flowers are supposed to look like they are popping out of the frame.

Valentine Kisses Card

I've seen these silver kisses made from our Silver Glimmer paper on various cards lately.  I don't know who came up with the idea, but I think it's brilliant!  Of course, once I saw the idea I had to come up with a card of my own, right?  Here it is:

What do you think?  It was really fun to create this one! 

 The kisses are made using our Blossom Petals Builder punch (p. 213, main catalog).  You just punch out the bottom of the largest petal to make the kiss.  Cool, huh?
